Santiago Infantino entered the field of art at the end of the 90’s by attending different workshops that specialize in photography and graphics. In the year 2000 he traveled to the United States and established residence in Miami, Florida. He then took part in various activities related to clothing and graphic design. At the end of 2002 he relocated to New York City where he initiated a series of projects interwoven with his art. In time, Infantino chose to focus his work on photography related projects that allowed him to fully express his particular vision of aesthetics.

Infantino believes it is necessary to question the role of masculinity, his own body, and his own needs in today’s society. In his work he tries to fill the emptiness behind the facade that is often presented in global pop culture. He incorporates mythology, religious iconography with comic book style figures, and public images.

The principal concept of his work involves the changes that the artist goes through as a result of his interaction with society. He displays himself as an auto-reference, not for the sake of vanity, but instead to show the manifestation of those changes.

His method is quite complex and systematic. He deconstructs his various photographs and reassemble the images into many layers. The final results range from very structured compositions to disjointed collages where the original elements become unrecognizable.
